LP sighting.

Wow ... it has been a really long time since I posted one of my "LP sightings".  I saw this one recently and thought it was extremely fitting for me these days.

My girls decided that they wanted to audition for The Voice.  We love that show.  (Christina?  Hmmm, not so much though ... mostly just Adam and Blake.)

Auditions are being held this weekend down in Southern Cali so we are hitting the road tomorrow.  Hurray for a road trip!  It feels like forever since I have been out of the state and I decided it was high time that happens, so .... off we go! (And it isn't like we think there is a very good chance of making the show, but it is all about the fun and adventure too, you know?!)

Elliott can't come with us because he can't take the time off of work, and Haley can't come with us because she has a game, so it will just be Chloe, Sophie and I .... I'm looking forward to it.  It's TIME for a little adventure.

..... even if it is a little KERRAZY!

Hospital pictures.

OH how I love little newborns ... especially when they are "my" little newborns!  McCall was SO ready to give birth to this little guy.  Her original due date was around the end of March, first of April.  But she was measuring about a week early so her doctor told her that if she hadn't delivered by the 26th of March, he would go ahead and induce her.  (Yes, please.)  She was a lot bigger than she was with Libby so we were expecting this baby boy to be a big one.

Well, last Tuesday night, McCall called me around 8:00 pm and said, "Mom, I just wanted to give you a heads up that my contractions have been consistent every 15 minutes and they are getting stronger so I may be giving you a call to come down tonight."

Around 11:00 pm, I got her call. And just after 4:30 am .... his cute little face joined our family.

(Logan's daddy is a HUGE BYU fan!  Look what he found in the hospital gift shop ...)

Libby had been calling him "brother baby" the whole pregnancy.
She was so excited to take him home with her!

Welcome to the world brother baby ...
we love you!

The luck of the Irish.

St. Patrick's Day came and went at my house without so much as a mention ... but not at my friend Vicki's house! I normally am one of those people that goes a little far out with holiday decorating, but St. Patrick's Day?  Do people decorate for St. Patty's Day?  Vicki does.  :)

She called me on Sunday morning and said she was having some family over for her annual St. Patrick's Day feast, which always consists of corned beef and cabbage.  "I want a little Polly touch because you know just how to move things around a little or tweak something here or there and have it look so much better."  (She's a nice friend that way.)  So I went over to help her "tweak," and it already looked quite cute.

I mentioned that I was having my sister-in-law's family over for dinner too (her birthday is on St. Patrick's Day), so Vicki made SURE that I looked festive and "Irish-y" too for OUR celebration!  She sent me home with the cutest cupcakes ....

And the funnest rainbow jello ...

And the most beautiful daffodils ...

Vicki asked me if I had any canned whip cream.  I asked her what for and she said, "I am going to serve hot chocolate later with whipped cream and shamrock sprinkles!  Do you have some hot chocolate?!"

She pays attention to tiny little details, that girl!

I guess it was my "luck o' the Irish" that I stopped her house that morning!!!

These faces.

Are you watching American Idol this season?  For the past few years the judges have been saying, "This is the best talent we've ever had on Idol."  I think that this year, it really is.

I loved all of the audition process this year too.  The group auditions were so fabulous in Vegas, I wondered how in the world they were going to chose the top 24 - and the judges said they really DID have a hard time choosing.  Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez have been SO sweet with the contestants.  And their faces?!  So funny - they get SO into the performances, I love it.  To me they seem much more sincere than the last set of judges, and genuinely concerned about them as well which has has made it more enjoyable for me.  (Although I do think Randy is trying to be the tough guy now, like Simon was, but it just doesn't quite work for him.)

I don't normally vote (I haven't been one of the 60 million voters in the past), but this year, the competition is so stiff, that I have been voting every week.  (All two of them so far.)

It's tough to say who my "very" favorite is since I have so many - and then that sort of changes after each performance, depending on how well they do, 'cause, you know, consistency is the key, right?! Jessica Sanchez?  Unbelievable in every way! LOVE her!  If you watch the show, you know what I mean.  If you aren't watching the show, tune in next week and watch this teeny, tiny, 16 year old power house sing. (OR! You can click here ... pretty phenomenal.)  And I really love DeAndre - such a showman, and Hollie - another tiny little talented power house, Colton - he could sign a recording contract today, Elise - loving her raspy soul, same with Erica, and Heejun .... you gotta love Heejun!!!  (It's gonna be sad to see any of them leave now.)

Do you have a "very" favorite yet?!

Smiley things.

I really would like to figure out how to get an app that resembles an Instagram for my phone.  So many bloggers are posting about their "life according to Instagram."  I love the look of the pictures.  That cool, retro, vibe.

This is my attempt at creating Instagram-ish pictures.  Here are a few little things that made me smile over the weekend:

Easter cards at Target.  I love Target.  And I love Easter.  Especially Easter candy!

This little girl was in the window at H & M.  She reminded me of DeAndre from American Idol.
She could totally be his little sister. (My girls and I are LOVING DeAndre!)

Nice Mohawk little bug.

Nice backpack little dude.

Can't get much more convenient than this!  Drive Thru Girl Scout cookies.
(I have eaten SO many more than my fair share.)

Smith.

I love seeing all of the "instagram" photos on the web now.  Kind of sad that I don't have an iphone so I can take some instagram photos of my own though.  (If anyone knows of an app for a smartphone that is similar, be sure and let me know.)

This is a picture of my little nephew, Smith, that his mama took for her "photoaday" instagram.  I guess there is a theme for each day that the folks at instagram somehow give.  You take a photo, according to that theme, and then post it for all of the other "instagrammers" to see and like, or comment on. (Yet another way of social networking.)

So yesterday's theme was:  Something you wore.  Here is what my sister Courtney had to say about her post:

I found this awesome little vintage shirt at the thrift store.  Since I'm not a huge country/western fan, I'm referring to it as the Rockabilly shirt.  Smith is referring to it as the

"I'm neba eba weawing dis cuz it's weiwd" shirt.

Oh my .... I laughed pretty hard at that one.  And yes, Smith really is that beautiful and has that fabulous of hair!

OREOs!

Okay, okay, okay .... so I guess it isn't a secret!  Oreo is celebrating it's 100th anniversary today!  (Right on the tails of Dr. Suess too.)  I have seen it posted on other blogs and by some of my Facebook friends, but I am going to join the ranks of 'em and give this fantabulous cookie a shout out of my own!

A couple of weeks ago, I was at Walmart with my friend, Vicki.  We were BLOWN away by their massive Oreo display!!!  (It was almost, but not quite, as spectacular as the Cuties display I blogged about.)  When we were checking out there were two checkers who had differing opinions about the display.  One of them said she loved it and wanted to take the big, HUGE Oreo cookie men home with her when they were done.  The other girl said the HUGE Oreo cookie men creeped her out and that she wanted to take scissors to them and pop them!!!  They were too funny.

Vicki and I both thought that everything about the display was FANTASTIC and couldn't get over how cool it was and we appreciated how much work went into it ... but we do differ on our favorite flavors.  Vicki got a much bigger kick out of the Birthday Confetti variety (although I will admit they are stinking adorable), but since I am such a creature of habit, I still prefer the good ol', plain ol', regular ol' yummy standard Oreo as my first pick from the cookie jar.  (Lots of people love the double stuff ... not me.  Why mess with a classic, I say.  To me, the "stuff" then over powers the goodness of the cookie and changes the flavor.)

I really do love Oreo cookies.  I rarely buy them though, because it's one of those things where if you do, you just can't stop until they're gone.  If ya know what I mean.

However, I did notice they have some mint Oreos ... hmmmm ... I suppose I ought to give those a try, since chocolate mint is my favorite flavor combination.  (I doubt they could compare to the girl scout Thin Mints though!)  :)

Girl Scout cookies.

(Image via)

A few years ago I stopped by a friend's house and she had a really cute little decal on the window by her front door that said, "No Soliciting.  Except Girl Scouts."  I thought that was so funny.  And then I noticed it on a few other doors too and thought that I should have one made for my window.  I never did.  (I don't like solicitors.  They actually are a little upsetting to me.  Occasionally, I have said, "Oh darn it.  I forgot to put up my no solicitation sign!"  And they have actually apologized and walked away without so much as beginning their sales pitch.  But that is the exception, not the norm for solicitors.)

Well it is that special time of year again!  When that unexpected, normally annoying knock on your front door comes and you think, as you reluctantly get up off of the couch wondering who in the heck needs something from you now, is none other than the little neighborhood girl asking if you'd like to buy some girl scout cookies.  And I happily oblige .... normally ordering four boxes of Thin Mints (my favorites) and two boxes of Samoa's (my girls favorites).

This year, when another brand new little girl scout in the neighborhood knocked, and was so shy she could scarcely get out the words to tell me what she was selling, how could I not oblige her too?!  I just duplicated the order. Order number one has been consumed ... we are still waiting on order number two.  I best be giving that little girl a call!

(And even though my sister, Spring, thinks it is silly that I buy Thin Mints when they are the exact same thing as Keebler grasshopper cookies!  I tend to disagree.  Because the box is cuter, I prefer little girls to little elves, and I remember to stick them in the freezer in their cellophane little wrappers, and they just seem to taste a little better.  And eating them one cellophane wrapper pack at a time is the way to go.)

Don't you agree?!
